The Rocky Health Foundation would like to thank the community for the support they’ve received in raising money for the new Operating Room (OR).
Shirley Hope, Chair of the Rocky Health Foundation said, “The foundation is humbled and overwhelmed by the generous support of the community. The last few days we have received donations each day.”
Hope noted these donations mean the Rocky Health Foundation is able to honour their commitment to the initial target set to purchase equipment for the new OR in March 2024.
“In 2021 the community was promised a new procedure room and surgical equipment sterilization department as the initial plan for the new building. We advocated for a new OR instead of a procedure room, as the current OR is large enough for a procedure room, but a larger OR was in great need.” Hope added the difference in cost was $750,000 which the Foundation committed to raise.
Hope said the Rocky Health Foundation is excited to share the Foundation hit its initial target. However, since 2021 there have been additional needs identified which the Foundation will continue to fund for.
“Our Foundation members volunteer their time to support local health care. We have a casual Foundation coordinator who is paid with grant funding but not donated dollars. As a result, 100 per cent of your donations is used to support the Operation Healthy Hospital campaign.”
