According to officials with RCMP K Division, emergency crews responded to a fire along Main Street in Rocky Mountain House at around 3 a.m. on April 18, 2024.
Officials also say the security alarms of neighboring buildings were set off prompting a response.
Fire Chief with Clearwater Regional Fire Rescue Services, John Liadis says crews were able to contain the blaze.
“Crews were able to maintain keeping the fire contained to the single point of origin,” says Liadis. “The adjacent buildings at this time have no structural fire damage.”
Logistics and Operations Officer with Clearwater Regional Fire Rescue Services, Ryan Moncrieff says additional crews from Caroline, Leslieville, Condor and Sylvan Lake arrived to battle the fire.
Moncrieff adds the Sylvan Lake department brought it’s large aerial ladder truck which played an important role in containing the fire.
Officials add that while the fire is under investigation, it is not at this time deemed suspicious.
