The owners of Rocky Mountain House Tim Hortons locations say they will be supporting the Rocky Health Foundation during the upcoming Smile Cookie campaign.
Chair of the Rocky Health Foundation, Shirley Hope says the proceeds will go provide additional equipment for the newly opened operating room at the Rocky Mountain House Health Center.
Hope says the organization’s Healthy Hospital Campaign successfully raised nearly $750,000 to equip the new operating room, but now there’s a request for more.
“We have had additional equipment requests,” says Hope. “We’re still in the fundraising phase. Additionally, another $250,000 is needed and there’s still a few more items on the docket.”
Hope adds the the original provincial plan was for a procedure room only, but the Rocky Health Foundation was key in getting it elevated to the next level.
“With our commitment of $750,000 in equipment,” says Hope. “It was able to be made into an OR”.
Smile Cookie week begins on Monday, April 29, and organizers say 100 per cent of proceeds will go towards purchasing equipment for Rocky Mountain House Health Center.
