Rocky Mountain House RCMP and STARS Air Ambulance both responded to an early morning emergency scene in the Sunchild First Nation area involving an ATV and a dog.
An RCMP spokesperson confirmed it received a report of a collision between an ATV and a dog on Sunchild First Nation shortly before 4:00 a.m. on July 30.
Upon arrival, RCMP identified the ATV rider, a 42-year-old resident of Sunchild First Nation, who was then taken by EMS to hospital where officials were informed STARS would be utilized to transport the patient.
Officials add, it was able to locate the collision scene on Sunchild Rd. as well as a deceased dog.
STARS Air Ambulance officials say it was dispatched to the Rocky Mountain House area just after 4:30 a.m. Tuesday morning.
STARS says it then transported a male patient from the Rocky Mountain House area with injuries sustained from a quad accident.
He was transported to Foothills Medical Centre in Calgary, officials say.
