The Town of Rocky Mountain House will be hosting a grand re-opening ceremony for the newly renamed Edward Jones tennis courts (5332 50 St.) on Aug 29.
The courts had been closed since spring 2024 to allow for a slew of improvements including resurfacing, line painting, and as Tiffany Robinson, Communications Officer for the Town of Rocky Mountain House says, something for pickleball enthusiasts as well.
“The Rec Centre has pickleball nets that can be brought out there to do a full six pickleball courts,” says Robinson. “Otherwise it’s three tennis courts.”
Part of the occasion will also include celebrating the new tennis court sponsorship agreement with Edward Jones in Rocky Mountain House.
Edward Jones will also be providing refreshments during the ceremony, says Robinson.
In conjunction with the grand opening, organizers say Tennis Alberta will be on hand with a free ‘try tennis’ event.
The free try tennis event will provide an introduction to the game of tennis for anyone who may want to take it up or try for the first time, says Robinson.
The official ribbon cutting ceremony will be at 5:30 p.m. at the tennis courts.
Robinson says residents are invited to come take a look if they’re out and about for the final Marketplace on Main of the season.
The tennis courts are located near the Rocky Mountain House Regional Recreation Centre.
