ATOMS
The Jr. Rebels Atoms were fearless as they stepped on to the field for their first game vs. the Sylvan Lake Tigers. In Game 2 they faced the AT Bucks.
Though both teams they played were strong, Jaxson Beaudin prevailed and carried on the “Sack-son” tradition accumulating a few more sacks for week 2.
Quarterback Nathan Morgan threw some incredible passes to his teammates and sought every opportunity to help.
He may be little, but that won’t stop one of the newest athletes to the team, Sterling Foster. He had some fearless runs as he gauged the field and fought to get through every opening.
“From a defensive perspective on our first game against Sylvan, we knew that their offence was going to be strong. We tried to prepare the kids for this in the week prior but to our disadvantage they had speed that our defense struggled to catch,” says Defensive Coach, Kyle Baird. “With that being said, it was a great learning lesson for the players as this was one of the first time our defense has seen such a fast-running game.”
“In game two against the AT Bucks, I was very proud of our defense as they didn’t let the Bucks into our end zone the entire game. They held strong stopping the offence as close as the 10 yard line. Another good learning lesson as to what can be accomplished when working as a team.”

PEEWEES
The Peewee Jr. Rebels headed into Week 3 with a 20-14 victory against the visiting Red Deer Servus Bucks at Curtis Field.
Thirsty for a win, the Rebels played a hard game, demonstrating great teamwork and effort.
Lead by two rushing touchdowns by Gabriel Rogers, and another rushing touchdown by Grayson Nichol, was enough for the defense to lock it down to capture the win.

BANTAMS
A chilly evening for the crowd, and a one-sided loss for the team was ultimately in store on Saturday, Sept. 14 during the first-ever ‘Night Game’ for the Jr. Rebels.
Bantam Jr. Rebels Noah Kirtzinger, Isaiah Arkell, Mikey Dalton and Liam Larocque stood at centre field for the playing of our national anthem as the sun shone bright above the field.
The Bantams showed up with 13 athletes ready to play, and their encouraging teammate who was out with an injury, Bentley Busby.
Being a significantly smaller team compared to others in the league, they always play with so much heart. It sure was a pleasure to hear Bantam Kaleb Leavitt as we sat in the crowd chanting, “don’t give up!”
“Despite the score, the game was very competitive. Our kids played till the very end. As coaches we saw some very good things,” says Co-Head Coach, Doug Laut. “Some amazing plays on both offence and defense. Big tackles, stripped balls, fumble recoveries, interceptions. And offensively some big runs, good throws, good catches. I’m extremely proud of this group of athletes. And hats off the Ponoka Broncs, they are a very good and well coached group. I imagine they will play for the league title this season.”
Ultimately, the bantams took a loss to the team of 27 Ponoka Broncs with a final score of 50-0 making their season 1-1.
“It was an incredible night for the first ever night game in Rocky. The kids had fun and played till the final play,” said Co-Head Coach, Jake Gorgichuk. “They never gave up despite the score.”
