The Rocky Health Foundation has officially received funds from this spring’s Tim Horton’s Smile Cookie campaign – a sum of $25,107.43.
The Foundation was chosen earlier in the year as the 2024 charity partner for the campaign, which donates 100 per cent of proceeds from special cookies to local causes.Â
Organizers say the results surpassed all expectations, as the 2024 campaign sold over 16,500 cookies at the two Rocky Mountain House Tim Horton’s locations.
That total far exceeded the organization’s 2024 goal of 12,000 cookies, and the 2023 total of 10,000 cookies.
Chair of the Rocky Health Foundation, Shirley Hope says the proceeds will continue to provide additional equipment for the newly-opened operating room at the Rocky Mountain House Health Centre.
Hope adds the organization’s Healthy Hospital Campaign successfully met its most recent goal of raising $250,000 earlier in the summer, but adds it continues to raise funds as required.
The Rocky Health Foundation plans to apply to benefit from the initiative again in 2025.
“Kudos to the staff at Tim Horton’s,” says Hope. “They were very accommodating and worked so hard to help us achieve our goal.”
The Smile Cookie Campaign began on Apr. 29.
