Five senior managers from the Town of Rocky Mountain House have received the Alberta Municipalities (ABmunis) Dedicated Senior Team Award for 2024.
The award which “recognizes an outstanding municipal team that demonstrates service excellence and dedication to municipal government” was presented Sept. 24 at the ABmunis President’s Dinner at the Red Deer Resort & Casino.
Award recipients are Corporate Services Director Betty Quinlan, Director of Planning Dean Schweder, Director of Engineering & Operations Rob Shanks, Director of Parks and Recreation Wes Amendt, as well as CAO Dean Krause.
Rocky Town Councillor Tina Hutchinson, who was involved in the initial application process, says she’s proud of the team.
“We want our residents to know that administration is leading the province in municipal management,” says Hutchinson.
The councillor also adds it’s not just the contributions of senior managers that’s excellent, but that every Town of Rocky Mountain House employee holds themselves to a high standard.
“Council is very fortunate to have such skill and certification amongst our senior team, as well as amongst our entire team,” says Hutchinson.
She notes there was a significant “clean up” of administrative practices that started about six years ago, and today residents benefit from the more streamlined organization.
