Town of Rocky Mountain House officials are advising that paving work on 44A St. in the east end of town is complete and the road is now open for travel.
Officials are reminding residents to observe the posted speed limit of 30 km/h, adding that parking is not permitted along the street.
44A St. was a project that was already earmarked in the Town’s 2024 capital budget, however, council leapt at an opportunity this past July to do more roadwork in the east industrial area.
Accessing two provincial grants, as well as Town reserve dollars, council approved over $375,000 for other road improvement on the east end of town.
Those improvements are planned to take place on a stretch of 47 Ave. just east of Hwy. 11, as well as the intersections of 49 Ave. & 43 St., and 52 Ave. and 43 St.
While certain intersections would be improved, Town officials say the roads around them are in good enough shape they can be maintained by the Town with routine crack sealing and pothole filling.
Officials say more road improvements are planned in the Town’s 10-year capital plan.
