Even after Halloween, people in the West County were still in the mood for scares as the Leslieville Community Centre held its Haunted Hall of Horrors on Friday and Saturday nights.
Organizer Melissa Wright reported that approximately 245 paid admissions attended the event, not counting children aged six and under who were admitted free of charge.
She noted the event raised around $4,000 toward its $400,000 goal of retrofits to ensure the hall complies with occupancy regulations.
The event featured 15 totes worth of scary props donated by the Confluence Heritage Society.
Additionally, many volunteers lent their time to ensure the event was a success- 54 for the scare crew, and six to handle the concession and door.
The previous weekend, the hall brought in around $17,000 with its Fall Harvest Supper fundraiser, which also featured entertainment from Ben Crane.
Wright adds, the hall will be taking a short break from fundraising initiatives to shift gears into facilitating a few free community events, such as the annual Kids Christmas Party scheduled for Dec. 8.
She says they’ll be back in the new year with some fundraising initiatives.
