The numbers are in from this year’s Stuff The Cruiser in Rocky Mountain House— and organizers are saying its the best year yet.
Community peace officer Kayla Whissell says over 3,600 pounds of food was donated along with over $6600 in cash at the three donation locations around town on Dec. 3.
Altogether, food and cash donations amounted to nearly $20,000, beating the previous record set in 2023 of $17,500.
Whissell estimates around 20 community peace officer cruiser loads of food bank donations were collected at Sobeys, No Frills and Co-op.

The day got off to a hot start as organizers reported full loads well before lunch time.
Just two hours into the event, community peace officer Jon Day said the pace of donations was well ahead of previous years.
Whissell says the community enthusiasm for the event is tremendous each and every year.
“I spoke to a few people who have utilized the food bank before, and are now in a position to donate themselves,” says Whissell. “There’s people who know we do this every single year, and bring in a large corporate donation.”
