The West Central High School Grad Class of 2025 is kicking off its fundraising efforts for graduation and prom season with a bottle drive set for Jan. 25. The initiative aims to raise funds for various events and activities for the graduating class.
Lacey Brown, grad chair for the 2025 class, shared that the bottle drive is an exciting first step in a series of fundraising activities. “We’re hoping to raise as much money as possible to make graduation and prom a memorable experience for the students,” she said. “People can drop off bottles at a designated location or arrange for pick-up through any of the grade 12 students in the area.”
Bottles can be dropped off on the day at the Rocky Bottle Depot (4324 46 St, Rocky Mountain House) at the WCHS grad class’s designated sea can.
To schedule a pick-up, residents can reach out on Facebook here. The organization adds that bottles need not be sorted before pick-up.
In addition to the bottle drive, Brown said there are several more fundraising activities planned as the grad season progresses. “We’ve already done some events, including helping out at Northern Crossing with a takedown and set up of their stage, and offering safe drives for local companies during the holiday season,” Brown explained. “We’re also sending out letters to local businesses for donations and contributions.”
As the grad committee finalizes plans for upcoming fundraisers, Brown anticipates more details will be available in February after their next parent meeting. “We’re excited for what’s to come, and we’re planning to hold raffles and other fun events in the spring,” she said.
For now, the focus is on the bottle drive, and the committee is hopeful for strong community support to help make the 2025 graduation a celebration to remember.
