The Rocky Mountain House Public Library is participating in the upcoming Read for 15 challenge.
Part of World Literacy Day on Jan. 27, the challenge is an Alberta-wide initiative to encourage people to read.
The public is invited to help it become the top library this year. Last year, Valleyview Library took the crown.
It’s “bragging rights” up for grabs, says Library Manager Ben Worth. He also adds, a small trophy is awarded to the winning library.
To participate, you can read anything – a novel, a textbook, a recipe, or even the library newsletter – as long as it adds up to 15 minutes of reading!
Worth adds, the Rocky community has been very engaged with the initiative over the last 9 years; adding the library has cozy spaces set up for people to read this year.
On Jan. 27, residents can let the library know you’ve completed the challenge by visiting the library, messaging them on social media, or calling the library 403-845-2042.
