The Rocky Health Foundation has announced it has reached 80 per cent of it’s $444,000 Heart of the Community fundraising goal.
Launched in November 2024, the initiative aims to raise funds for 18 new cardiac devices that will replace the aging equipment at the Rocky Mountain House Health Centre.
While the full amount hasn’t quite been realized, the organization says it’s confident enough now that the equipment has been ordered.
In addition to two major $100,000 donations received before Christmas, the foundation has also received contributions from many local businesses and organizations. That includes support from the Dovercourt Community Club, Western Wheels Auto Club, $2,345 from Rocky North and South 4-H Clubs, a long service award donation from AHS, as well as a $5,000 donation from TOMCO CEO Rod Tomyn.

Previously, the organization received $100,000 from West Fraser which went toward two pieces of equipment for mothers and newborns— a Panda Warmer and a C-MAC video intubation system, which are both now in use at the hospital.
The organization’s previous Healthy Hospital Campaign successfully met its goal of raising more than $750,000.
Donations for ‘Heart of the Community’ are still being accepted here, with charitable tax receipts issued for all donations over $10.
