It was certainly a warm April 6 across the province, resulting in a new daily high temperature record for the Nordegg area on Sunday— breaking a record that’s been held for over 90 years.
According to Environment and Climate Change Canada (ECCC), the Nordegg area reached 19 degrees Celsius, breaking the previous record of 18.3 set in 1930. Records in the Nordegg area have been kept since 1915.
The Sundre area, meanwhile, set a new record of 20.1 degrees Celsius, beating the old record of 18.6 set in 1996. Records have been kept in the Sundre area since 1993.
