Alberta Transportation and Economic Corridors will begin repaving sections of Highway 11 and Highway 11A within the Town of Rocky Mountain House starting the week of July 7, 2025.
The approximately two-month project, weather permitting, will include milling and paving about three kilometres of Highway 11 from west of Highway 22 on the north side of town to west of 53 Avenue on the southern outskirts of town limits.
It will also include nearly two kilometres of Highway 11A from west of the North Saskatchewan River to its junction with Highway 11.
Also part of the scope are intersection upgrades, concrete sidewalks, pedestrian crossing improvements, updated traffic signals, street lighting, new signage and refreshed pavement markings along key corridors. Planned intersection improvements cover:
-
Highway 11 at intersections with Highway 22, Lagoon Road, and 61st, 59th, 53rd, 52nd and 47th Avenues
-
Highway 11A at 60th Street
Construction will take place daily between 7 a.m. and 7 p.m., with no active work scheduled during the August long weekend. Motorists are asked to obey all posted signs and directions from flag persons. Minor delays and lane reductions can be expected, but no detours are planned.
A traffic-management plan will include additional signage, delineation, and lighting where needed.
