The Rocky Mountain House National Historic Site has been featured in a National Geographic publication.
In the Sept. 2 article, the provincial park was listed at number seven of “Ten National Parks in Canada you need to visit”.
The article lauds the park’s effort to preserve the history of the Canadian fur trade and the First Nations people who lived in the area long before settler companies united under the Hudson’s Bay Company.
It also mentions that visitors can learn about David Thompson, the trader regarded as “Canada’s Greatest Map Maker”.

Other parks making the top 10 include Grasslands National Park in Saskatchewan, Gulf Island National Parks Reserve in B.C, and Gwaii Haanas National Park Reserve, also in B.C.
