The list of candidates in Rocky Mountain House and Clearwater County’s upcoming municipal elections have been finalized.
The Sept. 22 deadline for filing nomination papers has passed, and in Rocky Mountain House, 12 people — incumbents and newcomers — are vying for six council spots.
In the mayoral race, former councillor Shane Boniface will be challenging two-term councillor Len Phillips, who has been the town’s acting mayor since 2024.

In Clearwater County, 21 candidates will be looking to fill seven council spots.
Every ward is set to be a competitive race as at least two candidates have declared their intention to run in each.
Wards 5 and 6 could be particularly competitive as four and five candidates respectively are set to run.
