BANTAMS
~ By Dallas Stradecki, trainer for Bantam Jr Rebels
The Bantam Jr Rebels were on the road taking on the Stettler Cougars, September 27th, still looking for win 1!
The Jr Rebels once again came out strong, though still with a couple players out due to injury. Rebels touchdowns were both scored by Charlie Molnar with one of them by interception and a run back the length of the field! Charlie also successfully kicked 2 PAT’s bringing the Rebels to hold the lead until the end of the 2nd quarter, score of 12-6.
The first half of football appears to be a time to shine for the Rebels. They continue to prove to be a strong contender in the league. However, the second half continues to prove a struggle, as bumps and bruises pile up and exhaustion sets in.
The Rebels took a loss to the Stettler Cougars with a final score of 24-16.
The Bantams stay on the road for their next game, taking them to Olds, October 4th with a 10am kickoff!

This past weekend, the Atoms returned to Red Deer for another exciting day of football, and the coaching staff couldn’t be prouder of their progress.
All week, the team focused on mastering long snaps—also known as shotgun snaps—and the hard work paid off! Those crisp snaps set the stage for 3-4 touchdowns during their offensive drives. The offensive line showed up ready, protecting the quarterback and allowing zero sacks across both games.
The first matchup against the Red Deer Bucks was a showcase of determination. With a strong offensive and defensive line, the Jr. Rebels controlled the tempo, earning sacks, protecting their quarterback, and creating room for clean throws and confident runs.
The second game brought tougher challenges against the Sylvan Lake Tigers. Despite carrying their powerful blocks and fearless running into the contest, the Tigers found a few gaps in the defense and capitalized to score. Still, the Atoms battled to the final whistle, showing resilience and heart.
Stay tuned—there’s more excitement ahead. Rumor has it the Atoms are looking to build “Big Brother” connections with the older Rebels. We can’t wait to share what’s next for this hardworking squad!
