Rocky Mountain House is giving the public a chance to have their say on the town’s direction in the next decade or so, as it has launched a new Strategic Plan survey.
The five-question survey asks residents about what they like most about Rocky, what the town should focus on first over the next 10 years, and what worries them most about the next decade.
The final question is an open-ended response which asks residents about what council should not ignore.
The town’s current Strategic Plan — adopted in 2024, and set to expire in 2026 — was built around ‘five pillars’ of community development: economic, social, environmental, cultural, and governance.
Even before a new plan is adopted, town council has been thinking about the future. In 2025, council adopted a new 10-year Recreation Master Plan, which calls for short-term priorities such as a new combined civic centre and field house.
Budget 2026 has also set aside funding to explore increased residential development in the Riverview Area on the north end of town.
The deadline to complete the survey is Jan. 30, and you can take it by clicking here.
