Clearwater Regional Fire Rescue Services (CRFRS) has announced the successful purchase of a 2002 E-One 75-foot Quint ladder truck from the Town of Rocky Mountain House.
The truck was sold to Clearwater County for $65,000, a price established following discussions and an appraisal value between the Town of Rocky Mountain House and Clearwater County Councils. Previously owned by the Town of Rocky Mountain House, the truck is now a Clearwater County asset, and will be stationed at Fire Station #10 in Leslieville.
At its new home in Leslieville, CRFRS Fire Chief John Liadis says it will support emergency responses across Clearwater County and provide valuable assistance to the training division at the county’s Leslieville training grounds.
Along with the “new” fire truck, Clearwater County will be spending $600,000 this year at the Leslieville Fire Training Centre, purchasing tools such as a flashover simulator and a pressurized hydrant system.

Liadis adds CRFRS was extremely happy that both the Town of Rocky Mountain House and Clearwater County were able to come to an agreement to continue utilizing this ladder truck, as he says it holds immense value in the service, particularly as a reserve unit when another fire engine is out of service.
He adds, it also plays a critical role in providing safety and exposure protection with its secondary elevated master stream, especially in high-density residential areas or where structures are in close proximity.
The 2002 E-One Quint is equipped with a 2000 GPM (Gallons per Minute) pump and carries 300 gallons of water, making it an ideal apparatus for a variety of emergency responses. Additionally, its 75-foot ladder allows for emergency rescue from heights, a key feature for high-rise fires or rescue operations in challenging environments.
The truck’s purchase comes after the recent launch of the newest fire truck in the region, a state-of-the-art Rosenbauer 104-foot Cobra Platform, which entered service at Rocky Mountain House Station 60 on March 13, 2025.
Liadis says this new apparatus, alongside the 2002 E-One Quint, ensures that Clearwater County is well-equipped for any emergency response, from high-rise rescues to large-scale fire suppression.
Town of Rocky Mountain House voted to approve the $65,000 sale at its March 20, 2025 council meeting.
