Clearwater County is inviting the public to take part in a naming contest for the Leslieville Recreation Area.
Residents are encouraged to choose a name that reflects Leslieville’s history, culture, and community spirit. The name could also honour a community leader, person of historical significance, or highlight unique features of the area. Submissions should be respectful and appropriate for all audiences.
The contest follows several major 2024 updates to the park. The site, which is already home to ball diamonds and a playground, has recently received new benches, a picnic table, and fresh pavement, all placed atop newly-installed concrete pads.

Matt Martinson, Clearwater County’s Director of Agricultural Services, noted in 2024 that while much of the work is completed, additional improvements, including garbage cans, more grass seeding, and tree planting, were still in progress.
Deadline for submissions set for May 6, 2025. You can submit your entry and view all contest details here.
The Leslieville Recreation Area, located near David Thompson High School, is just one county project underway in the hamlet, which also includes the uptown Leslieville Community Feature.
