Heavy snowfall is expected in parts of the West Country for Easter Monday.
According to Environment and Climate Change Canada (ECCC), a snowfall warning has been issued for the Rocky Mountain House, Nordegg, Caroline, Leslieville and Crimson Lake areas.
ECCC says heavy flurries, with total snowfall amounts of 10 to 20 cm, are expected. Showers and flurries are expected in Alberta today and tonight. Precipitation will fall mainly as snow over higher terrain west of Highway 2. Additionally, highly localized amounts of 10 to 15 cm are possible.
It adds, the snowfall event is expected to end by Tuesday morning.
ECCC warns rapidly accumulating snow could make travel difficult over some locations. Visibility may also be suddenly reduced at times in heavy snow. Motorists are asked to be prepared to adjust your driving with changing road conditions.
