Environment and Climate Change Canada (ECCC) has issued a rainfall warning for the entire West Country region.
ECCC officials said Sunday that heavy rain is expected to begin Monday and continue into the evening, with total amounts of 20 to 30 mm of rain expected for the Rocky, Leslieville, Caroline and Alhambra areas.
Even more rain is expected for the west side of Clearwater County, with the Nordegg areas expected to receive 50 to 70 mm.
Areas near and south of Highway 11 will see rain begin by Thursday afternoon, say officials, with areas north of Highway 11 to see rain begin by the evening.
Rain will taper off on Tuesday morning.
Officials remind residents that heavy downpours can cause flash floods and water pooling on roads. Localized flooding in low-lying areas is also possible.
