Clearwater County residents can once again nominate neighbours who put in the work to make their rural property especially beautiful.
The Rural Beautification Awards, which have been handed out for nearly 40 years, are a partnership between Clearwater County and the Rocky Agricultural Society.
The awards recognize efforts of community members to enhance not only the aesthetic beauty throughout the county, but also community pride and economic vitality.
Over the years, residents have put many hours into their properties.

Jesse and Nikki Lougheed were awarded with the 2024 Clearwater County Rural Beautification Award: Subdivision Category. (94.5 Rewind Radio/Jordan Rein)
Rock gardens, lawn ornaments, flowers, and antiques like old farm equipment are among the ways people have managed to spruce up their properties in the past.
CAO Rick Emmons says they’ll be awarded in a few different categories including rural, hamlet and urban or subdivision.
Residents are asked to nominate friends and neighbours up to the deadline of July 11, 2025
Paper nomination forms are available at the Rocky Mountain House Agricultural Society (5116 50 Ave) and at greenhouses within the county.
The online nomination form can be foundĀ here.
The 2024 winners include:
- Subdivision category: Jesse and Nikki Lougheed
- Active Farm category: George and Margaret Green
