Two stretches of trail will be added in Rocky Mountain House this summer.
Town officials say 400m of new trail will be added along the north side of Hwy. 11A between 55A St. and 60 St. Once completed, it’s expected to reduce road crossings for pedestrians and better connect to existing trails.
Additionally, another 160m will be added west of the Lou Soppit Community Centre, with the goal of keeping pedestrians off the main roadway.
The addition will add to Rocky’s existing trail network which stretches over 14km.
Laura Button, communications coordinator with the town, says work could begin as soon as June 20, weather depending.
