Following a dominant 2024 season, local golfer Saylar May is set to compete at the 2025 Women’s Amateur Golf Competition, July 2-3 in Leduc.
May, representing Pine Hills Golf Club in Rocky Mountain House will join around 70 other competitors at the Leduc Golf and Country Club.
The tournament is open to women whose handicap is 20.0 or less, and who are members in good standing of Golf Canada.
May previously won the 2024 Alberta Golf U17 Girl’s division championship at Alberta Spring Golf Resort in Red Deer County.
The August 2024 tournament came down to the wire, with May making a clutch par save on the 18th hole for a narrow 1-stroke victory over Calgary’s Kali Yeske.
Red Deer’s Eileen Park won the 2024 Alberta Women’s Amateur Championship at the River Spirit Golf Club west of Calgary, finishing two strokes ahead of Edmonton’s Jenna Bruggeman.
