Mountain View BearSmart is teaming up with Clearwater County and Mountain View County to host a workshop offering numerous benefits.
Clearwater County officials are asking residents to join the Composting and Electric Fencing Workshop which is a free workshop aimed at teaching the public on how to compost carcasses in a properly managed system. Officials say this will help prevent livestock disease transmission, protect air and water quality, and reduce the nuisance scavengers, carcasses and bones. County officials note this can be done, all while utilizing materials and equipment on farms.
The event is featuring three key speakers, including Dr. Kim Stanford, Research Assistant at the University of Lethbridge, Jeff Bectell, Coordinator of Carnivores and Communities Program and Jeff Marley of Margo Supplies who will be providing electric fencing information and conducting an outdoor demonstration.
The free workshop is Wednesday, June 8 at James River Community Hall from 10 a.m. until 3 p.m.
