Rocky Mountain House’s Saylar May competed at the Team Canada – NextGen Selection Camp in hopes of representing her country during the 2026 season.
At the two-day tournament at Beacon Hill Golf Club in Aurora, Ont., May shot 14 over-par to finish 13th among 18 athletes competing.
Red Deer’s Eileen Park also attended, but was unable to complete the tournament because of an injury. She finished the first round at three over-par and was tied for fifth but was unable to take part in the final round.
However, this doesn’t mean Park won’t be selected to the team for a third-straight year.
According to Golf Canada, athletes are selected based on results from the previous season but they also consider the golfers performance at the NextGen program’s annual selection camp. Team selections will be announced in the coming weeks.
Coming out on top was Clairey Lin of Langley, B.C., who was able to clinch her third victory of the 2025 campaign with a comeback win at four under-par. Winning the tournament earned Lin a guaranteed spot on the team.

May is coming off a notable victory in August, where she won the Alberta Golf Girls’ U17 championship at Alberta Springs Golf Resort near Red Deer in commanding fashion.
