The Rocky Jr. Rebels Peewee football team are returning home with their heads held high.
Despite a 61-6 loss in the Tier 1 provincial game Nov. 8 against the West Edmonton Raiders, head coach Mike Cochran says everyone is still incredibly grateful.
“It’ll be a season that none of us will forget,” he says. “One for the record books for Rocky Mountain House.”
Cochran points to the team’s thrilling 21–14 win over the Red Deer Servus Bucks on Nov. 1, which secured the Central Peewee Football League title infront of a cheering hometown crowd.
The team boarded a charter bus to Edmonton for the Nov. 8 game. Upon arrival at Clarke Stadium, Cochran says the weather cooperated, and he was pleased to see a large number of fans made the trip from Rocky to cheer on the team.
As the game got underway, the Jr. Rebels found themselves down by a significant margin by half time.
Cochran says the team set a goal to score at least one touchdown in the second half.
The team achieved that goal. Quarterback Rowan Fraser threw a 20-yard touchdown pass to connect with Ayden Wandler in the Raiders’ end zone.
“The crowd erupted,” says Cochran.

The team now enters the off season feeling proud of their accomplishments in 2025.
Cochran says the memorable season is thanks to the hard work and dedication of not only the players, but also volunteers, coaches and parents who worked tirelessly behind the scenes.
