Sundre residents woke up to a fresh blanket of snow on Tuesday after the region saw its first significant snowfall of the season.
According to Environment and Climate Change Canada (ECCC), eight centimetres (cm) of snow was recorded near Sundre on Nov. 24, with third-party reports showing totals ranging from 9 to 11 cm in parts of the community.
While parts of central Alberta saw snowfall, southern Alberta saw the heaviest accumulations.
Waterton had the highest accumulation at 15 cm, while places like Pekisko and Drumheller reported around 13 and 9 cm respectively.
Calgary saw a wide range — anywhere from 10 to 18 cm — depending on location.
Snow began Sunday evening in the mountain parks and continued through Monday before tapering off in the southeast by early evening.
