For the fourth time this season, the Rocky Rams were victorious over the Ponoka Stampeders.
Tyler Hanson, Cooper Lawrence, Keagan Landry and Ty Gyori all contributed to Rams scoring in a 4-1 winning effort.
Gyori’s powerplay marker in the second period adds to his dominant season — he continues to lead the HJHL with 41 points.
Goalie Lauson Kolisnek turned away 38 Stampeders shots.
Despite the score, interim head coach and GM Wendall Mason says the game was a grind.
“We thought the game went alright, it was closer than we thought it needed to be on our end,” he says. “Two points is two points.”
With the win, the Rams improve to 8-13-1 on the season. Meanwhile, it’s another tough season for the Stampeders who are 1-21-0.
Coaching change
Cody McLellan is no longer the head coach of the team.
“It wasn’t really working for both parties, we mutually agreed to part ways,” says Mason.
Mason will serve as the interim coach for the remainder of the 2025-26 season, with the announcement of a permanent head coach expected in the spring.
