It was another record-breaking year for Passport to Christmas in Rocky Mountain House, with local shoppers completing nearly 38,000 passports.
While final numbers are still being tallied, Rocky Chamber officials estimate tracked holiday spending at approximately $3.8 million — slightly higher than the previous record of $3.7 million set in 2024.
The campaign ran from Nov. 12 to Dec. 22 and allowed shoppers to collect one stamp for every $10 spent at participating local businesses. Completed passports were entered into a draw for three grand prizes of $1,000, $500 and $250 in Chamber bucks.
The grand prize draws were held live on the air Dec. 23 on 94.5 Rewind Radio.
The $1,000 prize was won by Stan T., the $500 prize went to the Mountain Rose Women’s Shelter, and the $250 prize was claimed by Susan G.
Taking part in the live draw on Simon & Friends were Michelle Meatheringham, executive director of the Rocky Chamber, along with Town of Rocky Mountain House economic development coordinator, Kristina Robinson and economic development officer, Jeff Hartling.
Representatives from Clearwater County — Luz Marisol Lepe Leon and Jerry Pratt — were unable to attend the draw. Meatheringham noted the county was instrumental in presenting Passport to Christmas again this year.
