The Rocky Library is marking Family Literacy Day on Jan. 27 with a family board game event.
West Country residents are invited to drop in with family or friends and enjoy a variety of board games from 1 to 3 p.m.
The library offers a large selection of games suitable for all ages, and participants are also welcome to bring their own games.
Family Literacy Day is held annually on Jan. 27 to raise awareness about the importance of reading and participating in literacy-related activities as a family.
“Taking time every day to read or take part in a learning activity with children is crucial to a child’s development and can dramatically improve literacy skills,” says a statement from the library. “Reading together can also help parents strengthen their own skills.”
