The Rocky Wranglers are recruiting riders and horses for the 2026 rodeo season.
Selected riders will carry sponsor flags at three major events: the Rocky Pro Rodeo in June, the Buck Lake Stampede in July, and the Battle of the Rockies in August.
“We like to carry 12 riders,” said program organizer Terry Williams. “It’s a big commitment, and it’s becoming more difficult to find riders.”
The season typically begins in late April, with practices held twice a week to condition horses and prepare for performances.
While previous experience is preferred, it is not required. Riders must be at least 18 years old and able to ride one-handed at a full gallop, while horses must be well broke.
The group, which was formed in 1990, receives numerous requests to appear at other rodeos throughout the summer. Williams said the Wranglers limit their commitments to the three events out of respect for busy summer schedules.
Anyone who’s interested in signing up can contact the group via Facebook.
