A Jan. 28 crash on Sunchild First Nation has claimed the lives of two people.

Rocky Mountain House RCMP say the two-vehicle collision happened on Townsite Core Road, about one kilometre east of School Road.

Two people were found deceased in an SUV, while two others from that vehicle were taken to hospital with serious injuries, one by STARS air ambulance.

The driver of the second vehicle, a sedan, was also hospitalized with serious injuries.

The victims are identified as a 66-year-old woman from Sunchild First Nation and a 64-year-old woman from Clearwater County.

RCMP have extended condolences to the families, and the road has since reopened.
