Gimlet will be buzzing with activity Saturday as the annual Gimlet Mannix-Clough Memorial Cutter Ride returns.
The popular horse-drawn poker rally event aims to raise funds for a local woman with a young family who is battling cancer, as well as for the Rimbey Hospital.
Cutter drivers will enjoy an eight mile groomed trail, with lunch served by the Leedale ladies at the halfway point. Those on horseback are welcome as well, although organizers are asking that dogs be left at home.
Poker hands are $5 each.
Organizer Tanner Lawton says all are welcome even if you’re not on horseback, as lunch will also be served at the Gimlet Hall.
He adds, everyone will gather at 3 p.m. for a live auction featuring new items generously donated from the community.
Those items include coats, accessories, electronics, among others.
Registration goes from at 10 a.m. to 12 p.m., with Lawton saying rider can hit the trail as soon as they register.
