Road bans are set to take effect in Clearwater County beginning Friday.
County officials say the restrictions will apply to local surfaced roadways starting at 12 p.m. March 20, as seasonal conditions begin to impact road stability.
Gravel roads will also be subject to bans as required. Trucks using those routes are being advised they must travel only on dry or frozen surfaces.
The measures are part of the county’s annual efforts to protect road infrastructure during the spring thaw, when warmer temperatures can weaken roadbeds and increase the risk of damage from heavy loads.
Drivers and operators are encouraged to check current weight restrictions and road conditions before travelling.
Officials say road bans are mostly the same as 2025 with one notable change: thanks to recent improvements, Wall Street Road is now a ban free roadway.
