The Rocky Medical Clinic is aiming to be in its new space on Rocky’s east side by June 2026.
In a statement to Pattison Media, clinic officials say — after a number of delays — the space is nearing completion.
“Our patients are looking forward to the barrier-free space, as well as the close proximity to the Primary Care Network (PCN) multidisciplinary support team,” the statement says.
In the meantime, fundraising efforts will continue to facilitate the completion of the project.
Additionally, the clinic hopes to recruit new physicians and nurse practitioners to the community to work in the “ready-to-practice” clinic.
The PCN moved into the building in November 2025.

The new, barrier-free clinic facility is expected to be a vast improvement over the aging existing clinic on 49 Street. The single-story building will include wider hallways, modern exam rooms and improved accessibility features for both patients and staff. Clinic Manager Kristen Penick says it will better serve the mobility needs of the region’s aging population and those using assistive devices.
Having the clinic and PCN under one roof will also be advantageous, say Dr. Anwar Haq, executive director of the Rocky Mountain House Primary Care Network, as medical clinic patients occasionally showed up at the PCN for appointments, and vice versa.
Starting in 2024, the Rocky Medical Clinic and the Primary Care Network kicked off a $1.9 million campaign for leasehold improvements inside the building. That includes items such as furniture, cabinets and medical equipment.
Current medical clinic building to be put up for sale
The future of the current Rocky Medical Clinic building on 49 St has been discussed by the Town and County Intermunicipal Collaboration Committee (ICC).
A recent appraisal estimated the building’s value at $960,000.
The assessment listed the building’s condition as “good”. However, a number of maintenance work is recommended to be addressed in the near future including window and stair repairs, as well as a $12,700 rooftop unit replacement.
Both Rocky Mountain House and Clearwater County councils approved listing the Rocky Medical Clinic at a price of $970,000 through a local real estate agent under the condition that the present leaseholders are provided time to vacate the building.

Penalties for no-shows
Ahead of moving to the new space, the Rocky Medical Clinic is toughening up on no-show appointments.
According to the new policy set to take effect May 1, 2026, delinquent patients who fail to cancel their appointments will be invoiced $25 for each no-show appointment.
The new policy comes as the clinic tracked 1,233 no-show appointments in 2025.
Officials say the policy is needed to better utilize appointments for patients in need of medical care.
Patients who are running late are encouraged to call the clinic at 403-845-2815 so accommodations can be made. Patients who need to cancel are asked to call the same number and leave a message on the dedicated cancellation line.
