Hailey Hallgren has been named valedictorian for David Thompson High School’s class of 2026.
School officials say Hailey is a fantastic role model, balancing top-tier academics, extracurricular activities, and work commitments.
The entire school community is incredibly proud of her hard work, teachers add, and wish Hailey all the best this fall as she attends the University of Calgary to pursue a bachelor of design in city innovation.
The student, who came to DTHS in grade 8, says she plans to go on to be a fully licensed architect.
“I think David Thompson is a great school to be in, the teachers have been amazing,” says Hallgren, who adds she enjoys how community-focused the high school is.
DTHS grad June 24
Around 32 grads are set to cross the stage as part of David Thompson’s class of 2026.
Hallgren says this year’s class is fun to be part of as it’s full of many different types of personalities.
She adds, the class got particularly close during the 2025 teachers strike, staying in contact even when classes were shuttered.
Grad exercises are set for the afternoon of Wednesday June 24.
