While still lagging behind the pace of 2024 and 2025, Rocky Mountain House and Clearwater County home sales are picking up steam.
That’s according to the the latest Market Update from the Central Alberta Realtors Association.
So far in 2026, Rocky Mountain House has recorded 36 home sales, compared with 45 during the same period in 2025 and 46 in 2024.
In Clearwater County, 78 homes have sold during the first five months of the year, compared with 103 by the end of May 2025 and 86 in 2024.
Rocky Mountain House recorded 13 home sales in May, up from 10 in May 2025 but down from 18 in May 2024.
The average sale price climbed sharply to $388,138 in May, up from $324,342 in April and $291,690 in May 2025.
Homes spent an average of 25 days on the market in May, down from 33 days in April and slightly lower than the 26-day average recorded in May 2025.
In Clearwater County, 28 homes sold in May. That was up from 18 sales in April but down from 31 in May 2025.
The county’s average sale price remained strong at nearly $515,000. While that was down slightly from April’s average of $543,503, it was up about 30 per cent from May 2024, when homes sold for an average of $395,630.
Properties in Clearwater County spent an average of 31 days on the market in May, down from 62 days in April and from 42 days in May 2025.
Across central Alberta, 506 homes sold in May, up from 453 in April but down from 641 in May 2025.
Year-to-date sales across the region totalled 1,937 units, down slightly from 2,167 during the first five months of 2025.
