The smell of coffee, pancakes and sausages will fill the air Canada Day morning as the Rocky Museum once again welcomes locals and visitors alike for its annual pancake breakfast.
The event runs Wednesday July 1 from 8:30 to 11:30 a.m. in the backyard of the museum (5406 48 St.), and features live music from Alberta roots artist Allen Christie. Volunteers will be on hand to serve up a classic breakfast of pancakes, scrambled eggs and sausage, along with juice, coffee and water.
Museum manager Jean Marie Mason says the event has become something of a summer holidays kick off for some familiers, adding that — if the weather’s good — around 300 people usually show up.
Admission is $12 for adults and $5 for children 12 and under.
Visitors will also have the chance to explore the museum’s exhibits after 10 a.m., including the recently restored Edna Brown log home. The historic house, which opened to the public in 2025, was relocated and refurbished over the past two years with the help of volunteers and community donors.
