Property taxes for Clearwater County are due Sept. 16, 2022.
County officials say tax payments, for all assessed properties must be received by Clearwater County by 4:30 p.m. on Sept. 16, to avoid penalties of 8 per cent.
An additional 4 per cent penalty will be applied to all outstanding tax balances Dec. 16, 2022, with a further 4 per cent penalty to be applied to all outstanding tax balances April 14, 2023.
Officials add, Combined Assessment and Taxation Notices were mailed on May 20, 2022. However, if you have not received your 2022 tax notice and you own property in Clearwater County, you are asked to contact the County’s office at 403-845-4444.
Clearwater County officials say you can make payments using these methods:
• Online Banking: go to your online banking app and pay through your bill payments tab to Clearwater County taxes
• Online: visit www.PaySimply.ca to pay through a third party using your credit card
• Mail: Clearwater County, Box 550, Rocky Mountain House, AB, T4T 1A4
• In-Person During Office Hours: at 4340 – 47 Avenue, Rocky Mountain House between 8:00 a.m. and 4:30 p.m., Monday to Friday
• After-Hours Drop Box: located at the front door of the County building. Please include your remittance portion of the notice.
• Electronic Funds Transfer: please contact your bank for more details.
• E-Transfer: please contact the County office for set up details.
County officials note, if you recently purchased property, did not receive a tax notice from your municipality, and paid a late payment penalty, you may be eligible for reimbursement.
