It was a beautiful day in Rocky Mountain House as dozens of runners, cyclists and walkers gathered at Helen Hunley Park for the 2026 Terry Fox Run.

Around 50 participants completed the five-kilometre route along Rocky’s trail system, raising more than $4,000 for the Terry Fox Foundation.

That total is still rising, says organizer Cheryl Terpsma, who notes donations can still be made at TerryFox.org by finding the Rocky Mountain House drop-down.

She adds local schools have yet to hold their own Terry Fox Runs, which could see the total rise even further.

“It was really great to see people coming together for a great cause,” says Terpsma. “So many have lost family members or friends to cancer or know people who are fighting it. Being able to honour and support those people and remember the ones we’ve lost was really special.”
