Scares and sugar highs are on tap as the Leslieville Haunted House returns for a third straight year with organizers promising new scares and activities.
The event runs Oct. 22 to 24 at the Leslieville Community Hall. Thursday will kick off with a gentler experience geared toward younger children while full scares are planned for Friday and Saturday nights.
“We’re hoping that it’ll be bigger and better this year than all the other years, and we hope we see more people come through,” said organizer Melissa Wright.
Thursday’s Tiny Terrors for younger children runs from 6:30 to 8 p.m. The Leslieville Fire Department will also host a candy drop beginning at 6 p.m. near the fire department.
On Friday and Saturday, Wright says Tiny Terrors will run from 5 to 6 p.m., followed by the full-on scare experience from 6:30 to 9:30 p.m.
For those who came last year, Wright says this year’s haunted house will look completely different this year, with volunteers working hard to raise the scare factor.

Admission is $10 per person, with children six and under admitted for $2. Tickets are cash only and available at the Elks Hall.
The nearby Elks Hall will also serve as a gathering area, with indoor and outdoor activities, a concession, a face painter and a colouring contest to while visitors wait for their group to enter the haunted house.
A silent auction will feature items made by students in the David Thompson High School shop class.
Proceeds from the event will not only support future events at the Leslieville Community Hall, but will also supporting youth activities in the community.
