Home sales in Rocky Mountain House picked up steam in September as 12 units changed hands.
According to the the latest Market Update from the Central Alberta Realtors Association, that’s up from eight in August, but down from and 14 sold in September of last year.
So far in 2026, Rocky Mountain House has recorded 87 home sales. That’s a slower pace compared to recent years with 95 selling during the first nine months of 2025 and 114 in 2024.
Despite fewer units selling, sale prices continued to climb. In September 2026, the average sale price was $389,367, up from $367,300 in August and up from $382,714 in September 2025.
Homes spent an average of 70 days on the market in September, up from 47 days in August and also up from the 30-day average recorded in September 2025.
Clearwater County
In Clearwater County, 173 homes sold during the first nine months of the year. That’s down from the 2025 pace when 218 units sold by the end of September 2025.
For September 2026, 19 homes sold in Clearwater County. That’s down from 21 homes sold in August, and close to the 22 homes sold in September 2025.
The average sale price dipped slightly to $490,705 in September from the $512,210 seen in August. However, it was up from the $429,909 recorded September 2025.
Homes spent an average of 68 days on the market in September, up from 45 days in August and from the the 45-day average recorded in September 2025.
Across central Alberta, 434 homes sold in September, down from 444 in August and down from 439 in September 2025.
Year-to-date sales across the region totalled 3,850 units, down 10 per cent from 4,280 during the first nine months of 2025.
