The Rocky Rams split their road games last weekend.
On Friday the Rams travelled to Medicine Hat for a date against the Cubs. The Rams came into the game dropping their previous three. Unfortunately, the Rams would suffer the same fate as their last three games, losing this one 4-2 and now on a four-game losing streak.
After the loss, the Rams would hope to end the streak when they travelled to Coaldale for a game against the Copperheads.
The first period started with the Rams striking just 1:06 after puck drop thanks to the Captain, Nick Jervis, with assists coming from Reid Christiansen and Tristan Hoffu,s giving the Rams a 1-0 lead early. The Rams would keep their foot on the gas after Grady Mofford scored 7:26 into the period with a pass from Reid Christiansen, upping the Rams lead to 2-0 going into the second period.
The Copperheads, however, would get the game within one goal when Sean Burns scored on the powerplay, 10:49 into the second period. The Rams would find a way to bounce back and reclaim their two goal lead after Quinn Tomalty scored just 2:33 after the Copperheads goal. The two goal lead was short lived though after Brogan Booth of the Copperheads would score on the powerplay at 18:57 of the second period, sending it to the third with the Rams up 3-2.
In the third period the Rams would also capitalize on the man advantage after Nick Jervis would score his second goal of the game, giving the Rams a 4-2 lead. The Copperheads would push to tie the game but only managed to get within one after a late third period goal from Grady Booth. The Rams would hang on to win this game despite giving up two powerplay goals and getting out shot 39-22.
The Rams are back in action Friday Oct. 14 for a home game against the Red Deer Vipers. Puck drop is at 8:30 p.m. at the Rocky Arena.
