The Rocky Rams wrapped up a tough weekend, dropping back-to-back games over the past few days.
On Friday, the Rams hosted the Cochrane Generals. The Generals came into the game winning their last five.
The Generals would end up extending their winning streak against the Rams in a 7-6 final. The Rams powerplay struggled going 2/7. Despite the Rams only losing by one, the Generals would manage to outshoot the Rams 41-30.
On Saturday, the Rams travelled to Mountainview in hopes of getting a win over the Colts.
The Rams started off on the right foot, when at 8:47 into the first period, Cale Stecyk would find the back of the net with assists coming from Grady Mofford and Quinn Tomalty, giving the Rams a 1-0 led. The Colts, however, would score shortly after to tie the game at one a piece.
In the second period the Rams would give up a powerplay goal, 7:09 into the frame. However, the Rams would notch things back up with a powerplay goal of their own after Cale Stecyk would get his second goal of the game.
The third period saw the Colts keep up the pressure, outshooting the Rams 15-7 in the third period. The pressure would lead to a goal early in the period for Colts, which would end up being the game winning goal, 3-2.
Rams goalie, Zaiden Hansen would have a great game between the pipes, despite the loss. Hansen stopped 49 out of 52 shots.
The Rams are back in action on Friday Oct. 28, when the Three Hills Thrashers come to town. Puck drop is 8:30 p.m. at the Rocky Arena.
