The Rocky Rams split their pair of games over the weekend.
On Friday the Three Hills Thrashers rolled into town for a date with the Rams, with Rocky coming out victorious 5-2.
The first period saw the Thrashers double up the Rams in shots 10-5. The Thrashers would also put up the only goal of the period, on the powerplay, 16:38 into the frame, when Teagan McCullough gave the Thrashers a 1-0 lead.
The second period saw the Rams score just 1:16 into the middle frame to tie the game 1-1, with the shot coming off Tristan Hoffus’ stick, and the assists coming from Seth Jervis and Reid Christiansen. The Rams would not let up though, scoring just over two minutes later, when Quinn Tomalty scored on the powerplay at 3:34, giving the Rams a 2-1 lead. The lead, however, would be short lived as the Thrashers would score at 7:27 to tie the game 2-2. The Rams would reclaim the lead 3-2 late into the period after Owen Green scored at 17:47, with assists coming from Caleb Christiansen and Quinn Tomalty.
With shots on goal being tied 14-14 in the second period, the Rams would outshoot the Thrashers 14-6 in the third period. The Rams would add two empty net goals from Tristan Hoffus and Tyrus Toews at 18:29 and 19:53, respectively, in the third period and would hold on to win 5-2.
Lex Watson had a great game between the pipes for the Rams, stopping 28 of 30 shots.

The Rams then travelled to Red Deer on Saturday for a game against the Vipers an lost 8-6.
The first period saw the Vipers double the Rams in shots 18-9. The Vipers would score three unanswered goals giving them a 3-0lead, until the Rams would find the back of the net late into the period to cut the deficit 3-1.
Unfortunately the second period for the Rams was much like the first. Giving up two goals just seconds apart, which gave the Vipers a 5-1 lead. The Rams would then find the back of the net for another late period goal but still trailed 5-2 going into the third.
The Rams would put up an impressive four goals in the final frame, but it was too late, as the Vipers would score three of their own and would hold onto the win with an 8-6 final.
