Rocky Mountain House RCMP have arrested three people, including a male who was wanted on a Canada wide warrant.
On Jan. 4, 2023, the Rocky Mountain House RCMP Crime Reduction Unit conducted a traffic stop on the main road of the O’Chiese First Nation.
RCMP say a vehicle was stopped for a traffic offence. Shortly after pulling the vehicle over, officers recognized the passenger, identifying him as Kyle Goodrich, 33, who Mounties say was wanted on a Canada wide warrant. Upon further investigation, officer’s say they located drug paraphernalia, and a bag containing a large quantity of suspected methamphetamine.
RCMP note, all three occupants were arrested for possession for the purpose of trafficking.
Police say the vehicle was seized and a search warrant obtained. As a result of the investigation RCMP seized:
• Approximately 365 grams of suspected methamphetamine
• A loaded handgun
• $800 in Canadian currency
• Several cellphones.
Kyle Goodrich, a resident of the O’Chiese First Nation, has been charged with:
• Possession for the purpose of trafficking
• Trafficking in property obtained by crime under $5000
• Careless use of a firearm
• Unsafe storage of a firearm
• Possession of weapon for a dangerous purpose
• Unauthorized possession of a firearm
• Possession of a firearm knowing possession is unauthorized
• Possession of a weapon in a motor vehicle
• Possession of a weapon obtained by crime
• Possession of weapon contrary to order
RCMP say Goodrich was held for a judicial interim hearing and remanded into custody for a court appearance on Jan. 11, 2023.
Petrina Redcalf, 31, a resident of the Sunchild First Nation, has been charged with:
• Possession for the purpose of trafficking
• Careless use of firearm
• Unsafe storage of a firearm
• Possession of weapon for a dangerous purpose
• Unauthorized possession of a firearm
• Possession of weapon knowing possession is unauthorized
• Possession of weapon in motor vehicle
• Possession of weapon obtained by crime
• Fail to comply with release order condition
RCMP say Redcalf was held for a judicial interim hearing and remanded into custody for a court appearance on Jan. 6, 2023.
Paula Beaverbone, 34, a resident of the O’Chiese First Nation, has been charged with:
• Fail to obey traffic control device
• Possession for the purpose of trafficking
• Careless use of a firearm
• Unsafe storage of firearm
• Possession of weapon for dangerous purpose
• Unauthorized possession of a firearm
• Possession of a weapon knowing possession is unauthorized
• Possession of a weapon in motor vehicle
• Possession of a weapon obtained by crime
RCMP say Beaverbone was held for a judicial interim hearing and released on a release order with a court appearance scheduled for Jan. 25, 2023.
RCMP say all the accused have been set to appear at the Rocky Mountain House Provincial Courthouse.
